This is my first bike, and my first helmet.
It is a Scorpion EXO-400 Tsunami (Blue)
I bought it locally for $99, on sale from like $150
I wanted a solid color helmet, as I am not a fan of snazzy designs, but all he had were with some kind of design, so I got blue cause the NH is blue (although not the same) any my wife thought it looked good. She has a sense of style (she picked me) so I went with it.
I like it, Its comfortable, fits good, and dont think its too noise, bad thing is no one can understand what I am saying, and I look like the blue Power Ranger.

Z1R Stance. Not a lot going for it other than the Snell M2000 rating and the fact that is cost $90. Big and noisy compare to, say, Arai or Shoei, but also a fraction of the cost.

Also, pretty ugly  Hap1

Yeah, I agree about the Scorpion bang for the buck.  I've got the Exo700 burst.  It's all over the place for like $165 or so... although, I paid a little more when I bought it (I did get a free  chin skirt and a second shield at cost though).  It's pretty comfy though.  Pads come out for cleaning.  The shields change really easy.  It keeps me decently cool and I like the looks too.

DOT and SNELL.....got two of em'.......no complaints, only praise.

Here's the cheapest and best place to get them.....will match prices, almost never have to.

http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/StoreFront.bok

Here's they are..the red one's for friday nite squid busting missions. Funny thing, when I wear the red one I get almost no waves from the Hardy boys. They almost always wave with the black one....

Thinking of replacing my plain white HJC CL-15 with a Scorpion EXO-400 or 700 in a silver or gray graphic.

Anyone want to weigh in on whether the 700 is worth the extra $20-30?

There is really no difference except claims of additional air flow. The 400 is at least 95% as good as the 700 line, and may be just as good. The only real difference is the more expensive graphics on the 700's. Been there personally and even the reps agreed. Get a closeout 400 and save big for virtually the same helmet minus crazy graphic designs.
http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/StoreFront.bok If you get last years graphics on the 400 at closeout price it's the ticket to the largest savings to the same helmet. Actually this year graphics are prolly soon comming to an end as the season is also. Good chance between now and fall they get reduced.
They know their stuff there. If you are happy with the size of your helmet, mention it to them and they will know if the Scorps run the same. Also mention the forum and being refered by me and no doubt get a discount or free shipping. Ask for it, refresh their memory.

I had read that The EXO-400 uses an "Advanced Polycarbonate Composite Engineered Shell".  The Scorpion EXO-700's shell is a fiberglass and Kevlar composite, not polycarbonate.

So, if that means anything to you.

Yeah, the graphics were what attracted me to the 700.

These guys seem to like it, but I'd hate to buy one without trying one on.

I just bought my son a new Zox Spectra R helmet for under $100. A new local Yamaha dealer is having a 50% off sale and finding a DOT and Snell certified helmet at this price was too good to pass up.

Just ordered this in XXXL  ... hard to find a good lid for a fat head like mine.

I've got an XXL in silver and it's too tight  so, snagged this for 130 bucks.

After a bird strike took out my old HJC, I found this KBC Tarmac for just under $100.  Both Snell and DOT.

The really nice part was that the color is an exact match for my Tahitian Blue '93 Nighthawk.

I now use a FF HJC IS-16.     I wear large old fart style glasses and they fit fine.... put 'em on after donning the lid without a problem

I wear a boring ole SY-MAX II

It is a modular, and I love it.

The brumbette sports a much more radical helmet:

I have this one by HJC

Best helmet I've ever put my head in! I wear glasses and the inside smoked lens is perfect, slides right over my glasses. Can't see me EVER purchasing another helmet without the built in sunglasses!

This is me wearing the wife's helmet. Mine is the exact same but flat black and a size bigger. Hers crushes my cheeks.

Tight cheek pads (within reason of course) helps keep your nose off the chin bar when the Earth sucker punches you in the face.

RF1000 update: A reflective tinted visor was added for day riding recently. Terrain contrast and object identification has improved quite a bit compared to the clear visor on a bright day. The clear visor is needed for night. Swapping out visors takes under a minute.

I just bought this new modular today and I'm so pumped to find out how it feels riding.  The advertising rep for the place my bike goes had a bunch dumped on him from a distributor and was selling them cheap.  I got shiny black, and a much more proper fit with his help(XL was way, way too big, this one is a small).  The viewport is hyooge.

I don't know if he images will all show up, or just one... but I grew up wearing dirt bike helmets, and old habbits die hard.

so I wear the BLUE "FLY?" helmet I got from a FLIB (love that term, thanks!) for a steal. and some black safety glasses that the wind doesn't seem to rip off.

The primer color one is one I was given from my bikes P.O. which is usually just for passengers or my girl.

I would like to have the other below.

After riding in the sweltering heat today, I have decided I have got to do something different than the current full face I wear. The modular looks very much like something I want, but can you ride with it when the bottom is in the up position. Otherwise I am going to have to get a 3/4 or half helmet for the valley summers. It seems as I age my tolerance to heat is not as good as it used to be.  Any one who rides with the modular please feel free to chime in, thanks.

I'm a chem teacher and my students voted on a few different choices that I had narrowed it down to at the time.  That is what they decided for me.  I went with the grey one.  Great lightweight helmet, not bad on noise, but wish I had gotten a modular too.  I'm interested in hearing what they have to say about your question niteryder.
