I believe there are three NH 750 bikes available locally. Two red and one blue.

Thats not the same this is Bike we speak of I majestic there is none other like it. It's Red, White, and Blue. Truely patriotic you feel more like an American just for being in its presence.  The way it cuts through the twisties is a sight and feeling like none other you've ever experienced nor will you soon forget. It's the King of all Nighthawks and motorcycles alike.

Oh yeah!!  thumb
You are that 'Steve'. You had a Nighthawk 650.
Man, you have been through a few bikes since then  winker
I still need to make it up to Ottawa. BTW, member ak85lp lives in Kanata. We've been on a couple of rides together. You want to meet up for a ride sometime? I think we are tentatively planning on a ride to Calabogie this fall.

The Biker's Church is having their Biker Appreciation Day tomorrow that includes a dealer run, bike rodeo, roated pig dinner, live bands, etc....  All FREE. The local dealerships are planning a sale in support.

I've had loads of bikes over the last 32+ years and my wife has always supported me. She hates to ride though, which is OK.

I'm down to just the HD Sportster and the soon to be mine GS550ES right now.

That's a good looking bike.  What are your impressions compared to the NH650?

Good question and there are several differences that I noticed right away. The NH650 had a more upright riding position and the footpegs weren't as far back and up, so less of a jockey position which was more comfortable. The NH had more power and sounded better in my opinion.

I really liked the no maintenance hydraulic self adjusting valves and the shaft drive on the NH. The GS has a more common cable operated clutch and I prefer this over the NH hydraulic type. Just easier for me to modulate.

The Suzuki has an analogue fuel gauge which I prefer over the LCD version on the NH. It also has a gear position indicator as did the NH, but it's easier to read. The GS is lighter which is nice and the small fairing actually does a decent job of moving the wind over my head.

Both are great bikes though and it would be tough to decide if they were both priced the same.

Went for a ride today and snapped this picture outside the Ottawa Senator's home rink.
