110kph (~68mph) on an ice racer on ice. Both of which never need to be repeated again.
Heh...I remember one winter I studded up the tires on my PE175 and took it out on the lake near my house. Perfect conditions...an inch or two of soft fluffy snow on top of smooth, hard ice. I remember passing a line of snowmobiles who were 'train-tracking' it down the lake. I got allot of double takes from them as I went by.

Only a pilot like Bumblebee could get a 27' motorhome up to 483 MPH! Did you end up back in the future? That was on the motorcycle. Bicycles passing me must have been going 600mph or faster at the time.

Did it have any more in it? Or were you tapped out?

I'm sure he probably had a little more in it Gammer. I heard top speed on an 82 650 is 120, and I do not plan on finding out. I was cruising on the interstate and had my speed pegged, which is 80 I think. No telling how much my speedo is off. I don't plan on going that fast anytime soon, it was a very slow acceleration, didn't realize how fast I was going till I looked down.

Did it have any more in it? Or were you tapped out? It had quite a bit more, but I ran out of road. I needed to turn off. I took that turn a little too fast

Had my Nighthawk up to 145 Km/h (90 MPH) today on the hwy. It had lots more in it. I love how this bike still pulls in 6th.
One thing I forgot about when going that fast, is how fast the bike decelerates just by letting off on the throttle. While cars are braking, I just let off on some gas to slow down. Which makes you want to make sure the guy behind you knows you are slowing down.

Rest your foot on the back brake to light up the brake light when compression braking. Just enough to turn on the light.

While playing in the high RPMs on a quiet county road this weekend, I quickly pushed the bike to 80 mph without even realizing it. Being that I'm a new rider, that REALLY seemed fast on that little 550... When I shift at lower, quieter RPMs, it seems like the bike can't go that fast without a long stretch of road. But get her revved up and she'll surprise you with what she can do. I'd bet she can get into the triple digits without much effort. The real scary thing was that as I rolled it back down to 55 mph I heard a little voice in my frightened little brain saying, "Yikes!.... but uhh... lets do that again!!!"

Over 100 there's not much there. 115 tops, and it takes a stretch to get there.

I'm not certain I want to taste anything above 90. I'm sorta scared that I'm saying 90 WOULD be considered. Really what I enjoyed was the commotion when I was really pushing the upper part of the HP band. Even if it was only up to 50 mph, the acceleration on that little bike is the thrill.

wheelies are always a necessity when jumping over deer and a long line of cars parked sideways in front of you. but most people just use a ramp...

Is that why that ramp is strapped to the sissy bar?

Needed??? Well yeah! You know - when you see a group of high school girls (the only demographic vapid enough to be impressed by a 26 year old motorcycle pulling its front tire a foot or two off the ground) you just gotta do it, bro.

As I often get waves and a smile from teenage girls as I ride my shiny red sport bike neck to toe in black leather I wonder how much they would gag if they realized I was older than their Dad. I haven't totally grown up though. Indicated 145 mph on the VFR800 and 110 mph on the 700S. Brief run up in speed for a few seconds, neither were topped out. I never felt the need to take the mystery out it.

Between 120 and 130. At those speeds I'm focusing on the road more than the speedometer. What a rush! I love speed!

~95 on the highway. I'd go faster if there was a wide open area where I could tell no fuzz was hiding. That's what I'm really scared of. Got a $150 ticket for going 70 in a 55 while passing an 18 wheeler commuting to work . Hey! I have an idea! How about we use our little blue bullies to catch criminals, rather than staking out people who still, luckily, have a job in this economy?

Anyone who has traveled throughout the world will also notice that in other countries hunting the working man in this way, is considered to be wrong and unethical. But in this country, this method of extortion is sold to the public as, 'saving us from the evil of speed.'

That pisses me off. 70 in a 55 isn't that fast when your passing a truck. What are we supposed to do stare at the speedometer to make sure we never go over the 'limit'? On a motorcycle you can gain 15mph in a fraction of the time of a car. While passing something dangerous like an 18 wheeler we tend to just go for it keeping an eye on traffic and anything that might be falling off or flying off the truck. Without trying or even thinking about it we can gain 15mph.
