Being a round the clock curious person, I wonder about many things.  Heres one of them.  Where is, and what is the name of the most enjoyable motorcycling riding road in your state?  We've got a lot of states represented on this forum, and I figure if everyone checks in with their favorite road we'll have a small national database of great rides!

We dont have a ton of great roads that are well maintained and not frost heaved here in Michigan, but one GREAT ride is a 24 mile stretch of route 119 that runs between Petoskey and Cross village in the extreme NW corner of the lower peninsula.  Long ride up there, but if you can catch it on a cloudless July day you'll be richly rewarded!  Much of this stretch overlooks Lake Michigan from heights of 200 to 500 feet.  (take your significant other, and enjoy a sunset!)  The entire 24 miles is tail of the dragon like, only tighter.  Heres a bonus, I've ridden it about five times and never seen a cop!

I'm stuck in Newport, RI - and so far, I think that Ocean Drive down at the South end of the island is the best - it's short, but I've ridden it 3 or 4 times in the last week or so.  It helps that it's only 5 minutes away from the house.

MN has some seriously nice river roads.  I'd say that highway 10 that follows the Mississippi from the headwaters to the southeast corner of the state is the nicest run.

In Colorado: Hwy141, Hwy550, The entire Telluride region in general, Hwy92 in it's own way  giggle most of the high mountain passes and pretty much the entire state in general (well, that is the areas not being paved over with housing projects) though the mountains are a bit boorish in places.

That said, I highly prefer the bazillion or so easily overlooked unnamed side dirt roads without sign on them that go off into BLM/National Forest land. THAT is where the scenery is though you have to watch where you're going and make sure you don't get lost.

I LOVE that guy's site! Makes me jealous of you Californians every time.

I'm in Florida, aka - Flatistan. You know, the state that has one left turn  winker Just kidding, sort of...There are not a whole lot of exciting roads around me that I have found yet. When I do find a good road, it's usually not very long. There can be some nice riding on SR50, SR40, and a few county roads that run through Ocala Nat'l Forest and the Gainesville area. Other than that I haven't found a whole lot of secluded nice roads where I've been.

Route 9 from Wilmington to Dover AFB is awesome, as you can see the Delaware river while riding. Unfortunately, it is the preferred road for H-D clubs, and goes underwater during rainy weather. Never mind the 50MPH gusts blowing you into the opposite lane. The Reedy Point bridge makes me nervous though....anyone with a fear of heights will get nervous, as it is only 2 lanes wide, no shoulders, fence is only 2 feet high, and is about 1 mile long, and tall enough to allow ships to go under via the C&O canal.

Route 15 from Middletown to Dover is great, too, lots of curves.

+1, that is a nice road!! Just rode it for the first time about a month ago. That bridge is a bit intimidating looking approaching from the south!!

I like Ocean Parkway, from Jones Beach, to Captree SP. Its a good 20 miles on a barrier island, with beaches on both sides, 2 lane road, with wodden lampposts! Throw in a few bridges over the Great South Bay, and it makes for a nice ride.

The best road around me is to head north of Kingston and take Perth Road back to Westport, ON...some nice twisties that cuts through the start of the Canadian Shield. And Westport is a small, beautiful, seasonal town that has lots of small shops and a handful of mom and pop restaurants and the town is located on the Rideau Canal.
Usually I head across Westport road to Verona, ON and that has some nice twisties too.

I'm not too sure about Iowa but the road through Ledges state park is pretty cool.  Lots of twists and turns.  Only problem is that in the bottom of the park there are places where the road dips down so that water can run over it and it gets kind of deep sometimes.

Otherwise I take Sand Road (near marshalltown)  I think there are some decent roads around Des Moines as well but most of the country roads in Iowa are fairly straight

That road running up to Cunningham Falls is a cool road. I've been through there many times, but never on a bike.

Even though I live in Texas (and have some great roads locally) this is one of the best roads for motorcycling.  It's just 100 miles from home and I went to rip up this 53 mile long rollercoaster on Saturday.  If you are ever in AR-OK, you've got to ride Talimena Scenic Drive.
