Shhh. Don't let everyone know that AR has some of the best roads in the country. Which AR road is becoming like Tail of the Dragon with packs of crotch rockets screaming around the turns?

Hey Eville, have you been on hwy 43. It goes from Spencer down into green county. Its about 25 to 40 miles. Short but pretty good scenery and twisties.

Can't say I have sadly. Mostly just ride North or South. I might have to head that way this summer though, especially if my friend stays in Bloomington.

TEXAS --- "The Three Twisted Sisters" - Ranch Roads 335, 336, & 337a.
Really really good riding.
Agree with this one. Some of the best roads anywhere. And best of all, they're only about 45 minutes from my home!!!

just simply get off any interstate or main highway and pick a road any road and enjoy the ride ! That's the soluton on finding the best roads and hidden places anywhere you go. <--- haven't been on an interstate at all or major highway in over 15 years except to get through cities..and do a pretty good job of bypassing them entirely then too.

Portland, Ore., can get annoying sometimes, what with the hipster kids and the Nike/Intel yuppies.
But I gotta tell ya: I've lived in several corners of this country, and have traveled through all 50 states, and I've NEVER seen access to such fantastic motorcycle roads immediately outside of a city as I have here.
Hwy. 224, which is about 15 minutes from downtown, winds in fun twisties along the Clackamas River through spectacular forest.
The low mountains of the coast range are about 30 mins. away and chock full of fun roads. My favorite is Hwy. 47/202, a narrow band in timber country, which goes from Vernonia to Astoria.
For more serene sightseeing, Hwy. 26, which is busy until you're out in the high desert (about two hours from the city), winds through desert canyons and along the John Day River.
Heaven, I tell ya.

This one is easy, Hwy 1 from Morro Bay to Monterey, it is incredibly beautiful, and winds it way up along the Central California coastline. It is the only place I have ever been where you can see Zebras grazing in the pasture just south of San Simeon. The only bad part is it is so scenic you find your self stopping way too many times, and everyone in California likes this road, so it can get crowded at times.
The other is Hwy 49 from Oakhurst to Auburn, rich in Ca. history, the Mother Lode, AKA The Golden Chain Hwy. Ther is so much to see on this road, take a tent sleeping bag, and a camera. Last year I spent 5 days riding this road, and did not see anywhere near everything there is to see. Not crowded, well maintained roads, and tons of old gold rush towns that are very well preserved. This is the time of year to go, sunny clear, still green, lots of wildflowers, and temperatures in the 70's to 80's. A motorcyclist, photographer, and history buffs paradise.

We have a lot... but Highways 3, 36 and 299 in way Northern California were great.
Hwy 3 is tons of fun when it turns twisty. Rode it last wkend.

Route 9W is nice going between the George Washington bridge and Bear Mountain Bridge / reservation in New York State (Travelling on the Jersey side of the Hudson). 9 A (I believe it's 9A) on the OTHER side of the river is very twisty. Never rode that side yet on the bike - and bear mt bridge is definitely scary enough in a car. I did do that side of the river driving a box truck for my former employer - very creepy in a top-heavy truck hauling tons of AC equipment.
I'd like to take the whole Rt 9 sometime down the jersey shore, the only part I know I won't like is around the Newark airport area. That's where it gets ugly. Supposedly 9 also goes all the way up to Canada.
