not entirely sure yet... I kind of want to see what I can do about a cafe/flat track/street fighter type combo. all on the inexpensive tip.
It all starts with a new headlight clamp (ears) I'm going to try to lower the headlight and bring the profile down a bit...will end up probably using different gauges and what not. This will be a long process, and i will just update this thread with new pics and pieces. I really like the tail section on the bike, im just going to try to shorten it a bit.

I got all the title and reg taken care of monday...and it died getting off the freeway!  I just cleeaned the hell out of the carbs and hopefully with that and a little ignition wire clipping and another set of new plugs we should be good.......hopefully. While the bodywork is off I'm going to take off all the unneccessary crap. I kind of don't like the way the black looks with the blue frame...may have to do a quick tape off and spray all visible frame parts.

I didn't realize that the 650 nighthawks had frames painted in a color other than black.  Do you think it was painted to match it's original color?  Or did a previous owner paint it?

Too bad you're too far away to meet up with in the next year or so. I'm looking for good condition 1-1's and have an old set that would be perfect for a hatchet and alter job.

maybe I'll try and find a header from a 79-82 (All should fit I believe) and fab something out of that... I could probably sell my 1-1's here for a decent return I would imagine!

1 into 1 is just another way of saying 4 into 4...it's the same thing...that's why we're saying 1-1's plural. 1 head pipe per muffler...or four seperate headpipes to four seperate mufflers. cool with you?

Never was too good at math. Only got to 400 level mathematics classes without my brain exploding, well, at least it didn't go through the walls when it went boom.

If you want to get picky, it's actually two 2-2's. The right and left sides are separate components.

Heres picky. Official press release from Honda on a 2007 CB919.......

"Unique four-into-two-into-one-into-two exhaust design features expanding-diameter tubing leading into the two center-up mufflers, contributing to strong mid-range torque and an exhilarating exhaust note."

I'd probably just call them 4 into 2's.  Hap1

The funny thing is I started off calling em 4 into 4's... let's just agree to call them 3 times more weight than neccessary!

oh and by the way... I got the carbs back on with no airbox gave her throttle a couple quick pumps to load the bowls and whammo! she started right up with a little bit high idle...adjusted the idle and the lil whore was just purrin dead steady...revved it up a few times and was surprised at how quickly revs dropped...it used to hang ever so slightly so all signs point to go at this point...now whether to try and fit the cumbersome airbox back in or bite the bullet and get some dual oval filters and ditch the box. Ive already got a set of 120 and 125 mains coming from z1... Well let the air/fuel experimenting begin!

heres a couple pics...never mind the super messy garage...I spent my clean up/organize time    cleaning up and re-organizing the back end on the nighthawk! slim LED taillight tucked under the lip of the fender (actually really bright) made in china 5$ turn signals attached at the subframe where the old grab bars were...plate mounted atop the fender, still visible for the police etc...( a plate light is on back order)   now the blue frame is even more noticeable!!!! needs paint! maybe next winter... putting pods and jetting it tonight- we'll see how that goes! also have the 750 top triple with bar mounts I will try to get on there next weekend.

well...went up 7 sizes on the main jet and it feels like a new bike.....above 5k rpm that is. it is starving a little below that. Nothing terrible, but I think it means I need to shim the needle up and possibly up the size of the other jet a little. The pods took some "modifying" for them to squeeze between the frame and the #1 and #4 carbs, but otherwise no probs with them...it sounds killer at WOT too....suction baby suction!
