DAY ONE !  - this is the "before" pic.   I've got GenMar  risers  ( 1" up &  1.6" back ) and a Rifle Sport Fairing ordered to make it more comfortable.   -  I plan on doing the "washer-mod"  on the carb ( which needs some cleaning) and as soon as it stops raining I'll slap a new rear tire on it ( Mich Pilot2) .

Also orderd sadlebags and a tank bag  but that's looking ahead a bit.

That's not the stock seat, is it?
I'm hoping this massive ordering of accessories is due to knowing what you want and not cabin fever, parked motorcycle syndrome...

PMS  Ha!    Yes, some of that too.   Corbin seat -  was on there when I bought it.  I'm not complaining...

Well,  Years ago I rode everywhere I went.. and I mean everywhere...  racked up close to 200K miles on 3 hondas ( 4 motors ) but I've been off of them for over 10 years... so this is my come-back bike <G>

I kinda know what's comfortable in this new stage of geezerdom.   So the bar risers are getting me back in the seat and off the tank,  the fairing moderating the wind without killing my gass milage and the tire is cuz it seriously needs it <G>

So, I think the mods are all pretty logical so far -   Oh, Washer-mod to come is to reduce that insain warm-up time  the cleaning the carbs gonna get at the same time should  smooth out the power curve...I hope.  Right now it wants to jump from 10 mph to 20 with nothing in between and then again from 25 to 35... and from 47 to moon-launch.

Hey your bike looks just like mine, right down to the Corbin seat. How about some Progressive shocks for it?

Nice bike you have there.

I ( ok, Rusty ...while I held the bike)  put the handle bar risers on today.  They fit fantastic,   Super ez install and they made a huge difference in comfort.  Hard to believe just an inch higher and 2 back would be that big a deal but it was.
I'm very happy with the purchase and I know it's going to make longer rides way less exhausting... not to mention getting sensitive body parts OFF the tank and back on the seat <G>

Saddle bags should be here later this week and the  fairing in another 12 or 13 days.

I hope to have a new back tire before then.

My good friend, Rusty did all the work here... I held the light, and got the coffee and cookies.

Thank God I've got friends that are smarter than I am at bulid/repair!

Hmm, the straight back edge of the fairing from the side view looks a bit stark, but the angle view looks really nice.  Very unique and visually bulks up the bike a good deal.

Put a new battery in today -  it's on the charger.  The sun is shinning outside ( but it's still 34F )   so I might get another pic or two of it straight on.   Looks like a whole different bike from the front.

Note: no oil stains yet in my basement.... prolly means I'm not much of a wrench turner <G>

threadjacked Sorry about asking, but do you like your Progressive shocks? If so, do you recall the model #?

The way the Rifle fairing is designed the placement of the fairing on the bike is tied to the headlight. You basically fit the fairing to the headlight, adjust all the mounting brackets to this position, tighten em' down and thats pretty much where she has to go.

In our case this was fine cause the fairing ended up pretty much where it needed to be anyhow. Coverage seems to be pretty good.  The Mickey Mouse Ears (sorry FP!) cover the hands very well.

How did it ride today FP?

(Oh - and by the way StrayDog & Rusty are both me!)

It rode great.  No extra noise, no extra drag... and that's without the headlight cover, which is supposed to drop the drag quite a bit ( that's on it's way... delayed a bit )  .

WAY warmer than without that's fersure!

I have to get a pic straight on and from the driver's position soon.

I'm curious about how much difference the bar risers make.

Considering them on the FJR, but I've got other plans for cash right now.

DesignFlaw06:

I helped FP put em on - It doesn't look like much but it doesn't take much.
It was just enough to allow him to back up off the tank and feel comfortable.

I need to replace my bars to adjust my hand position but just can't make myself do it........

I'm sure once we do it we'll wonder why we didn't do it much sooner.
