The part is discontinued. Does anyone know where I can get an alternator chain?

Never mind, I found someone selling one today!  banana

Looks like tomorrow I'll be removing  and dismantling the engine so I can replace the chain.

oooohhhh  can u take some pics?  ive gotta do my starter clutch and im kinda scared....  the heads just have to be unbolted and taken off, not broken down, right?  I'm still doing my homework to be able to do deep engine surgery, not ready yet.

I will post photos. I haven't worked up the courage to do the alt. chain replacement yet. I PM'd Gammer for some tips (he's done it before), but I wasn't very clear in my message to him (I just used the word 'chain') and he replied thinking I was doing the camshaft chain (totally different procedure).

I've got the shop manual and I'm still not clear on exactly what needs to be done (besides removing the engine and splitting the cases).

jkeithreynolds, I did replace a starter clutch on a different bike -- an 82 KZ1000 and it was simple. It didn't require engine removal. But unfortunately CB700SC's do.

Anyway, I hope to get started within a week and will photograph the procedure.
