Yes, this is our newest stablemate.  It is a 1968 Puch Sabre 50cc 4 Speed.  It does need some TLC but the opportunity to restore & revive this jewel is exciting!  I believe that a true motorcycle enthusiast will appreciate & admire such a jewel.

So this is probably a neat little bike in its own right, but the pictures seem to reflect that you're totally in on the collector/novelty appeal of it being sold (and badged) via Sears Roebuck.

So seriously, was this thing sent by mail order in the last century?  Called up, or sent a check and got some jeans, a wrench set, a motorcycle in the mail in a week or two?

Beauty.  Love the battleship gray color and general quintessentially straightforward design.

Now that brought back a memory I totally forgot about. My child hood running buddy's brother had one of those. Only diff, it was NEW! He would beat our butts every time he found out we drove it. So for your sake,I hope it didn't belong to Jimmy. If you ride in your yard and some guy stops buy and beats your but, it was his.... But for real, that's a clean 'lil machine you have there. Hope you have as much fun as I did on it.

It does need some TLC

Doesn't look like it from the pictures - must have been well taken care of.  I forgot that, back in the day, Sears sold everything.

Thanks everyone for all the comments,I think my hardest problem will be finding some parts to repair this thing. I"am not wanting to sell this bike by no means, but I was telling a guy I work with about it and he offered me $500 without even seeing it.

I vaguely recall seeing one of those once when I was a kid. I mean I saw one precisely once and not twice or more.

If you run out of ideas on where to get parts, check with the adventure riders website. They tend to do restorations from time to time. It might not help however there are a lot of riders all over the planet and one is likely to be able to point you in the right direction.
