I did not ride the NH at all last week, and was getting cabin fever.  So, I took her out for a chilly but pleasant 40 mile ride (all I could stand with out hand warmers).  Ended up on the Intercostal Highway.

What temperature are we talking here?  It's colder by the water, and competency on gravel is a good sign that there is no hypothermia shutting down bloodflow to the brain.
Forty miles is more than I've done in anything resembling cold weather for quite some time.  Big optimization of frequency versus duration...

HC,
It was 37 this morning.  Brrrrr, I had to stop a couple times to warm up enough to feel my fingers.  Just could not keep the NH in the stable with it being so sunny out today.  First non gloomy day in a long while.  As for the gravel....  Had to make the aproach for the entrance to that parking lot twice before I took the turn.  Also a great day to practice the curvies prior to May.   ricky
Cold aside, it was a great day here in Va Bch for a ride!

Chromy - your 650 is real clean in that picture.  Can't wait to see it in May.  Glad you had a chance to get out.

Sounds like you still plan to make the trip. Still plan to ride through Raleigh?

HP,
Not as nice looking up close.  Desperately needs a new paint job.  The 27 years of wear have taken their toll (not to mention orginal owner and I dropping it once each).   banghead  But she runs great and she's all mine!

DrDubb,
I'm still trying to deconflict the May ride with my B-Law.  I would much rather participate in this if I have to make a choice (hope I do not have to).  musicboohoo
I plan to stay over night Thursday night in Fuquay Varina (I would certainly snyc-up with you at a Starbucks or something), then head out to the Kickstand Friday morning, set up camp, then enjoy a couple of amber colored beverages and some good company!
Best regards,
Eric
