Anyone have one?

It's one of the very few modular helmets available in 3XL.

My current HJC CL-MAX is cheap and loud.  Even in 3XL it puts too much pressure on my forehead.  I tried on an EXO-900 in 2XL and it was tight but not bad, I think their 3XL would work quite well.  I really don't care about the 3/4 way of wearing it, I just want a good modular that will fit my head.  The other annoying part of having a 3XL head is most shops don't carry lids in my size to even try on.

Well I have a scopion exo 400 and it's great.  I can't vouch for the modular helmet but overall I think scopion is one of the best helmets you can get for the money.

Thanks Ari, think I will take the plunge.

I got my HJC CL-MAX a year ago because it was cheap.  I'll just have to be sure to double check the return policy where I order it from.

Put $100 down on the silver one (pictured above) in 3XL at Cycle Gear.  I wanted the neon yellow but they couldn't get it in 3XL.  The rest of my gear is a bright silver, so it should match nicely.  I have a spring time 15% off coupon for Cycle Gear so even after taxes it is lower than I can get on the Internet.

Oh yes, I should have it Wednesday.

My current HJC will give me a headache after 2 hours which has been fine for commuting, but not for touring.

Soup - do the reflective tape thingy to the silver helmet to add yellow.  Someone posted a video of it not long ago...

I just got the EXO-900 from NewEnough last week. It's a cool lid, no more sunglasses req'd, but it is snug, and needs a break in.
I have several XL helmets, and this one is tighter, even without the pump.

Well, I just got one of these to replace my Schuberth, that I now realize is like six years old.

I bought it from a real brick and mortar store*, because I need to try stuff on.  Also, it turns out the salesperson was the poor girl who put up with me my last round of unsuccessful helmet shopping, and she was actually very knowledgeable about the products she was selling.  So rare; most bike shop employees are total pinheads.

It fit in the store, whereas nothing else has.  They only had white, and that's the safest color.  I've been sitting on a pair of Arrow Head Lane Change reflective decals and they'll go on in short order.

*Price was exactly the same as newenough.com and I got to try it and bring it home today.

I know the Scorpion 400 will fit as I tried a friend's...and they come in my size, XS.

Thing is, the replacement faceshields are almost $50, as much as the old Arai I got rid of for that very reason.

So I won't by a Scorpion helmet because the faceshields are so expensive. I wish I could find something for my bean-shaped head that wasn't so expensive....

I think I've bought them at the local bike shop for only $30 , yeah it's not that cheap but I only use a clear and a dark smoke

Yeah, I paid $50 for my silver shield.  Riding in GA sun without a dark/reflective shield turns my lid into an oven.

So far I love the 900 though.

How do you like yours, Gizmo and HC?

I just bought an EXO-400 from Extremesupply.com and it came with a "free" mirrored shield in addition to the included clear.  (I used quotes on free because the helmet was $99.99 with the "free" shield but it was listed as $89.99 without. Oh well, I would have had to pay for shipping for the cheaper one anyway.)

FYI, Clear shields for the EXO-400 are $35 and $38.25 for the EXO-900 from NewEnough.

cool, that site has a lot of different styles on the EXO400, too.

I was shopping bikebandit but they didn't have much EXO400 stuff at all, and listed replacement shields at almost $50.

Sorry for further derailing the thread from EXO-900 talk, but I thought I'd mention this, too.   I wanted the EXO-400 in matte anthracite. Extreme Supply has it, as I mentioned, for $89.99 or $99.99 (with a "free" mirrored shield).  Shipping on a helmet is $12 for orders under $100 and I couldn't find anything online to gently bump my total.  I called them and ordered the $99.99 helmet and chin skirt ($7.95) and got shipping for free.

So, I could have paid $102 for the $90 helmet + shipping, but instead I paid $108 for helmet, silver mirrored shield, and chin skirt.

It's scheduled to arrive tomorrow--I placed the order on Monday.

This is slightly off topic, but what's the difference between the -400 and the -700?

So I'm stuck returning my 900 because of a small trim crack at the base, but at least I'm not paying shipping.  I'm getting a direct replacement, as I wore it around indoors and it's fine except for the minor flaw.

EM87, it looks like reviewers, owners are also at a loss to find the difference between the 400 and 700 : http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/scorpion/exo-400/

This is slightly off topic, but what's the difference between the -400 and the -700?

The 400 is polycarbonate and the 700 is fiberglass.  Sportbiketrackgear states that the different in weight is negligible.

Exactly right, the 400 is a much better value and the shields are less upon replacement.

I was there in person and had them both on, didn't see any difference and was also told there is very little.

The 700 line being a minuscule lighter and having different graphics is all that's changed between the two, so get your 400's while they're hot and still available!

My EXO-400 arrived to day--they sent me the wrong size.  The receipt and packing slip have the correct size listed, and and even checked the helmet inside the box.  I ordered XL.  This medium isn't gonna fit.

I'll call customer service in the morning.   This is disappointing.

No.   I ordered from Extreme Supply.   I'm a little bummed, but we'll see how they handle the exchange before I get too upset.   :)

Too bad, I know those guys at SBTG well, could have had the replacement in priority mail tomm.

They prolly wouldn't have made the mistake in the first place tho...
