I picked up my first bike yesterday, Its a 92 750 with 34,000 on it. I love it so far.

Ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Activ tires for it today after hearing good things from a few friends and different shops. But only time will tell.

And it looks like someone rhinolined the whole thing...  wacko

welcome The good thing about Rhino liner is, it will never scratch or need to be waxed.  poke It doesn't look bad though. The bike looks to be in good shape.

Its a good thing you ordered new tires.. looks like the ones on the bike are toast.

That's funny, I just bought the same bike yesterday!  Only mine is all black and has a few road bites... so right now I am very jealous of your rhino lining.

 welcome to the addiction!

Kinda of ugly-purty, that rhinoing (no offense).  Where in NorCal? (I assume the name means Northern Cali).

Thanks guys. Yea it is rhinolining on the tank and plastics. I dont mind the black but Im not a huge fan of the concrete gray color on the back plastics.  It definitely is "ugly-pretty"

welcome I also like the rhinolining. I agree that the grey looks wierd. At first I thought it was primed. If it really bothers you, you could apply a black coat of the truckbed liner they sell at autozone. I would check on required prep work first though. You found a great forum happy1 and a great bike biker_h4h1

just found this

HERCULINER can easily be repaired or over-coated, because it bonds to itself.
• Clean area to be repaired and rough up surrounding HERCULINER with 60-grit sandpaper or a wire brush
so that the new application can get a good grip.
• Clean area with Xylene (Xylol) Acetone or MEK.
• Brush fresh HERCULINER onto cleaned areas, as per application instructions.

Close but just below Shasta and Weed and yea the roads that arent super torn up are great for riding.

Havent decided for sure yet, Its kinda nice because I dont have to wax it or worry about it scratching but Im not a huge fan of the look...Im thinking that I may go over the grey with a red or black...  scratcher

Id also like to figure out a way to put the honda wing logo on the sides of the tank

Got my rear Michelin Pilot Activ from Motorcycle superstore today. I was kinda bummed when I looked at the date on it and the tire is already 2 years old...  Sad

Two years is still within good shelf life. You'll have those worn out before dryrot sets in. I usually need new tires every two to three years.

Ill work on more pictures maybe tomorrow. I havent had time to take any.

I went on a little bit longer ride today. Had a ton of fun. 130miles although the stock seat gets a little uncomfortable after awhile.

Gettin the tires mounted up today/tomorrow. Dropped em off and I should be able to pick em up in the morning and mount em back on the bike.  happy1

They feel nice and soft so hopefully theyll grip the road a litte better than the old tires. The old tires were real good for sliding on hard down shifts or quick brake stops.

I just put Michelin Pilot Road 2 on mine and it made a world of difference.

The thing about the Rhino-lining is that it weights more then regular paint.
I've never been a huge fan of using it on bikes. But I can appreciate its low maintenance appeal...not saying thats what you're after, but obviously the P.O. was.
