Leather, Textile or Mesh Which is best?

I've got 4000 miles on these pants:

They have held up very well.  But they are black, and as Loki pointed out, fairly warm in stop and go traffic.  I have a coupon for this vendor - PM me if you are interested.

Thanks burgi I'm going to look into that jacket but I'm affraid LOKI is right. It's not somuch the heat but the humidity that gets you in Louisiana. I'll prolly just end up getting two jackets. Use the mesh for my everyday riding and the textile for longer trips.

Oops sorry for the confusion Burgi if you notice i posted that at 5 this morning. I had alot on my mind last night and decided to go for a ride 9 hours and 450 miles later I got back home wasn't quite in the most attentive state of mind when reading your post. Thanks that looks like just what I've been looking for. Now off to find the $$$.

IMO: Solid thick leather with hard offroad armor and kevlar over top everything is probably best.

I ride with mesh because I have a considerably less chance of going down than if I have heatstroke while riding.

The riding gear that I ordered arrived a little while ago and I think its gonna fit ok, seem to be well made, hope that I don't have to test it. Will report back later after some real world use.

I'm a big fan of a mesh/textile jacket with leather on the high impact areas likethe arms and shoulders.  The Joe Rocket Reactor 2 is what I use and it has armor and reflective strips.

I ordered an Xelement mesh jacket and textile pants in red&black with reflective piping from LeatherUp dot com, both claim to have level 3 armor by "Atom Armor" where it counts, hope I don't get to find out about it in person. I plan to order the textile jacket to match the pants soon for when it gets a little too cool for mesh. One of the uses I plan for cherry bomb is to be my daily commuter ride for most of the year.
