http://www.kodakgallery.com/gallery/sharing/shareRedirectSwitchBoard.jsp?token=458008838114%3A922659283&sourceId=533754321803&cm_mmc=eMail-_-Share-_-Photos-_-Sharer   My wife and I took a sunday ride to get a bite to eat.  Riding country roads with her behind me , a guy in a mini van runs a stop sign and took me out.  I  tried to avoid him but never had a chance.  My helmet took out his windshield and I got flung in the air and hit the road , like I was dropped out of a tree.  My wife said I bounce two ft in the air off the pavement.  My full face helmet and full armor jacket and boots save my life.  Broke left ribs and right index finger, Bumps and bruised on hip & legs and badly sprain left wrist.  I'm really sore and hurts to breath but vicadin and Labatts Blue is helping with pain.  My poor wife was horrified seeing that, but she's a trooper and has been back on her 1985 Nighthawk 650.  I must admit, I cried when I seen my 700S.  I know it's just a bike, but it like loosing my best friend.  I'm so thankful to be ok and my friends are offering me a frame and handlebars and other front end parts.  It's close to hunting season now, but I my try to save her over the winter.  Lesson Learned --  Your life can change in a heartbeat, so stay positive and live it up.  Thank God for looking out for me and I have some really good friends.  Wear good gear and ride on.   I still got my Dual-Sport bike.  Take Care,   Dan beer

Glad you made it back to tell the tale.

For a t-boning, this actually turned out relatively well.  A busted pointer finger stinks, but no substantial damage to limbs or vital organs is coming out pretty unscathed.

I was thinking the engine and stuff looked perfectly fine: glad to hear they'll live on.

Wow  bugey  I'm so glad to hear you are ok.  Hopefully the driver of the van has good insurance and will be buying you another bike soon.  Welcome to the club...it's not fun to be in but you only have to pay your membership dues once!

Glad to hear you're OK and you seem to have a positive attitude about the whole thing. Good luck getting her back together this winter.

Best wishes to you and your family. I'm glad to hear your injuries are minor. The bike can always be replaced...Your life can't.

Thanks everyone for your concerns.  I'm OK, but the sore ribs are going to take awhile.  Then I will go over the bike.  My good friend Shawn said he's got a frame, handlebars and some front end parts that I can have.  I might have to find another tank and instrument cluster & exhaust , I'll see what I can come up with over the winter.  Ride On everybody and please wear all your protective gear, cause you just never know when it can save your butt.  They fellow that hit me was from Ontario Canada and I'm in NY, so I'm waiting on the Insurance Company's to take care of thing's ricky

What is it with Canadians and minivans? winker  I swear half of the people on my pop up camper forum are from Canada and they all drive minivans. A new stereotype to toss around I guess. Hap1

Glad to hear you're ok. Another good reminder to wear all the gear all the time.

I will admit an unreasonable loathing for a anyone with Canada tags this far south... it's justifiable though.  Back when I was commuting every week around 5.5 hrs on I-95 they were almost the death of me numerous times.  I learned to just get the heck around them though!  burnout

Glad you came out with just a few broken bones after that.  I joined the crash club last year and know what you are going through.  Lots of pain killer and probably sleeping in a recliner like I did with 5 broken ribs.  Hope you heal soon.

You guys got it all wrong...its all about the SUV's. I see more drivers in SUV's around here then anything else, more then mini vans.
Us Canadians too think that mini vans are lame.

I will admit an unreasonable loathing for a anyone with Canada tags this far south...

We too have a loathing when we see southern US plates up here...you guys drive too slow on our highways.  winker

I'm really sore and hurts to breath but vicadin and Labatts Blue is helping with pain.

So is it ironic that he is drinking a Canadian beer to help with the pain that a Canadian caused him?  scratcher
