Yesterday I took both of my 650's to a friends shop for insp. A friend that I used to work with from 2000 to 2004 opened his own shop a few years ago. He always did side jobs out of his garage when we were working at the Saturn Dealer together and he always wanted to open his own shop. Well he did and he's doing great. I've only been there a few times and yesterday was the first time since last years inspection. He is more into sport and custom bikes than anything else. he does all kinds of custom work and one off's. He has a 3 wheeler similiar to the spyder that he built before the spyder even came out and he built a street legal quad out of a Hyabusa. He even has a full time custom air brush artist right on sight. They do everything on sight except chrome plating. So anyway, here are a few pics I took with my cell phone, next time I go I'll take my camera.

Impressive, I commend your friend's success and respect the engineering that must be required for something like that, just not my cup of tea though.

Not sure. I only had about 10 minutes to talk to him. He had a cheerleading team come in with their coach and all the parents. They had 12 megaphones they wanted custom painted. Seemed like a nightmare he had on his hands trying to work out the details with that group. But anyway, he has a nice thing going on. His shop is air conditioned too.

I agree Ari, but you have to appreciate the workmanship that goes into the bikes.

Yep...still think your 650 was the best looking one there!

Although I would love to ride that motard.

Wow, that artwork is beautiful, it makes one wonder how long it would take for a job like that. Well worth it.

And yes! When they start doing black chrome..let me know, i have an extra set of pipes i want done!!

Nice paint work! I bet he gets a pretty penny for one of those jobs. Glad to see a "small" shop doing well and thriving in this economy.

While I was there I noticed a sign that said "Custom paint jobs START at $799.00" I'm sure his artist is paid well and puts a lot of time into a paint job. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.

That KTM is way rad.  I bet it's a lot of fun.  I appreciate all the other bikes as well, but man... I'd love to have that motard in an empty city.
