The family and I went over to my ex-in laws for a cookout yesterday. (Sounds wierd going to my ex's parents but, they are great people and we are all still really good friends). Anyways, my mother in law wanted to learn how to ride several years ago. They bought her a brand new 2004 Suzuki GZ250 to learn on. She took the MSF course and passed but never really took to riding. For years now, I have been asking hem if they wanted to get rid of the bike. She always respetfully declined because she always planned on riding the bike. The bike has been sitting with only 69 miles on the clock all these years in the garage. I think my perserverence is going to pay off. I asked her again yesterday if she wanted to sell it and she finally said she is now thinking about getting rid of it. My father in law has always run it every 3 to 4 weeks around the neighborhood but it does have a flat rear tire from picking up a nail running it around. I'm sure the gas needs to be drained and some seafoam run through it but, the bike is brand new still.

Seeing as though they still consider me their "son", I may be able to get it dirt cheap. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.  deal

I figure it would be a great bike for SOQS to learn on once takes the MSF course.

definitely a good learning bike.  if she can shift that successfully, and ride it around safely, she will have no problem with a real motorcycle!

Those are supposed to be decent bikes.  I really like the TU version of the same machine from Suzuki.  I'm not sure why ERAU doesn't think it is a real motorcycle?
