Just wondering if anyone has found a good solution to cleaning non-removeable liners in our helmets. I've heard of some people putting them in dishwashers, taking them in the shower and using shampoo, just dunking in soap and water.... things like fabreeze aren't cutting it anymore.. I need to freshen the lid up  |

Pat with damp towel or sponge. Rinse, repeat. Ozium, available at most car part shops, is also very effective at neutralizing nasty smells |

well since i wanted to get all that sweat, and whatever else was in the liner out, I went ahead and put it in the tub and worked some shampoo into it and rinsed it out... I'll tell ya, the water wasn't too clear on the way out lol... however what I thought was the fabric fading was probably salt from sweat, and it looks and feels like new again! the shampoo works! I have it propped up by a box fan, its pretty much dry after half a day.... and no more stink

Did the shampoo loosen any of the glue holding the liner in? Normally I just buy a new helmet for my husband when I can smell his on the deck and I am in the house.  |

Last winter I took my liner out of my Scorpion helmet and washed it. I put it back in and it looked just the same, only cleaner.

lol, you just put the whole helmet underwater? That's kind of brave I guess, didn't it take ages to completely dry out again?
My old helmet just stunk up the hallway for half a decade or so, I'm glad my new one has a removable liner I can just throw in the washing machine :)

its getting time to put the 3/4 helmet up for winter and wear the ff helmet. the 3/4 helmet isn't dirty but does have an odor so i'll be stuffing it with news paper to absorb the odor

might take a bit longer to just air dry, I had box fan blowing straight into it, but all in all worked pretty good! definitely need a removable liner in the next helmet, or start wearing a bandanna or something to keep it cleaner.
